So how can you tell when you're living juicy? When it goes all the way down to your toes...

They're starting to crack and peel away, but these happy toes have kept me in summer cheeriness for weeks and weeks! Every time I go home to visit Mernie in Atlanta, we have our nails done at a great little place that specializes in fun designs. They always smile when I bring in a piece of scratch pad with some crayon polka-dotted depiction of what I want. But they manage to pull it off every time! (I should show you the checkerboard toes!)

But now that I'm back in Taos I'm clinging to my watermelon toes, for there's nothing so juicy in these parts. OH, we've got the sunsets and the cafes and the mountains that change color every five minutes, but we don't have a single nail salon that can give me feet a day at the circus. Ah, well.

It was fun while it lasted. I might just have to paint my own this time...!
